Hey everyone. As you all know, I've slowed down on being a part of the festivals and book signings around my area for a while now, for various reasons. I'm still keeping things on the low with only Spring and Fall activities.
Before my fall book events happen, I'll be taking a trip to the sunny state of Florida. I know the timing sometimes has bad weather, hurricanes and such, but we are believing for beautiful sunrises and sunsets while we visit St. Petersburg. When I say we, I'm talking about my dear friend who also is a writer, Elaine Grant. We're looking forward to our meeting up in Florida for a good time. She lives in the mountains now, but used to be a southern dweller like me. Distance can't keep friends apart. I believe we will have a great time site-seeing and such. Maybe I'll have some pictures to share next month.
In the mean time, mark your calendars (those who live down near the Baton Rouge area). I just updated my web-site CLICK HERE FOR MY WEB-SITE and you can see the information there, or just get it from below.
October 6th I'll be speaking at a writer's retreat. This is being held at the Fairwood Library in East Baton Rouge Parish on Old Hammond Highway. It will be a 1pm - 5pm retreat for new writers to learn many things to help them when writing their first novel. My talk will be from 2pm to 2:30pm.
On October 27th I'll be a part of the Livingston Parish Authors' Alley. It's on the lawn and inside the Main Library of the Livingston Parish. 11am - 4pm. They have a lot of local and surrounding area authors come and display their books for sale. Also they have activities for kids and food for all.
Last but not least is November 10th at the Louisiana Book Festival, downtown Baton Rouge. 9am to 4pm. This is held every year for Louisiana Authors' to display their books. Also people will get a taste of Louisiana Cuisine. Other things will be happening at various booths. Live music rolls on all day long. So come on down for some fun.
As most of you know, my publisher - Oak Tara - closed their doors in 2017. I've started rewriting and updating the 5 books published by them in the time I was with them. The above two, Crime in The Big Easy and Second Chances are available now, and they will be with me at the 3 events a planned to take part in.
Crime in The Big Easy will be having a second book released in a new series in 2019. John and Taylor finally came to me with another story to write for my readers. Second Chances is the rewrite and update of After You're Gone. The title threw a lot of people. Very few realized this was and is a beautiful romance. I think it was because After You're Gone was released 2 days after my husband's passing. But trust me, if you'll give it a chance, those of you who love reading romances will love this one. It's all about second chances.
In 2019 three new books will hopefully be releasing. 1 is the 2nd book in the Young Adult Series - Cooper Parks' Adventures, another will be the second in The Big Easy Series, and the 3rd will be a stand alone mystery/suspense. Also during the earlier part of 2019 I hope to have the first 3 books of the Samantha Cain Series available for Deborah Lynne readers as well.
In my eight years of being published, I was blessed with 13 novels released. I'm believing for more as time goes on. Remember, all but one of my books are fiction, and in all my books my God is real!!!
I'll touch base again with all of you toward the end of October.
Take care.

Latest update from Deborah Lynne
Hello everyone. I hope life has been good for you. It's getting better and better for me. Thanks for caring.
I found out earlier this year that Oak Tara Publishing was closing their doors. With them, I had five novels published. I felt led to take time to refreshen each of those novels and have them re-released. It's amazing how much things have changed electronically over the past ten years, but it's been a joy re-reading the stories and updating different parts. I hope those who've never read these books will take the opportunity to do so. And if any of you - even those who've read the old ones, have a Kindle, you'll be able to read them for free. I love that, because that's why I write--for people to read and enjoy.
Crime in The Big Easy was rereleased August 2018. I'm hoping to complete the updated version of After You're Gone with the new title -- Second Chances. It is a beautiful romance, and it's all about second chances, so what better title could it have. Feed back on the first title told me it led people to believe the book was a sad, depressing story. Sorry. It wasn't. I believe it was a beautiful, happy book, but not enough people gave it a chance. They were put off by the title. SO I'm giving that book a second chance. LOL I hope you receive it well.
God's also given me three other ideas for three new books.
If I can do what He's shown me, one will be BOOK 2 for John and Taylor, characters from Crime in The Big Easy. Everyone used to always ask me, when are you going to write another book for John and Taylor. Those were two characters you couldn't help but fall in love with...them and their romance, in between John solving a case and Taylor getting in the middle of it. My answer was always, when God gives me another story for them. And now He has.
Another one will be BOOK 2 of the YA fiction series, a novel for the Cooper Parks' Adventures line. Coop and Bailee have more to share with their readers and can't wait to catch up with them again. So much goes on in High School these days. Unfortunately, some things make headlines.
The third will be a stand-alone mystery/suspense. All new characters, hopefully ones who will pull you, the reader, into their happenings.
I'm hoping to complete all three during the year 2019. It will be a challenge, but I believe He will help make it happen...since all three were His idea anyway. 😀 Through my fiction, the Lord wants you the reader to enjoy the storyline and be entertained, but mostly He wants ya'll to know He loves you, and He's always here for you.
Thanks for being so patient with me. I used to blog regularly, but over the past four years, since Scott's death, it's been hard emotionally. I'm hoping this time I will keep blogging so I can stay in touch with you my reader. God bless you all.
I'm attaching a picture of me with my four grandchildren, and future granddaughter-in-law. 😊 I'm believing so. I've also learned a few months ago I'll have a fifth grandchild before the end of 2018. It's so exciting. See, I told you my life was getting better and better.
Thanks again for being a part of my writing life.
